Catch That Squirrel

So you know how in my last post I was writing about getting a picture of a squirrel in certain conditions and thought it was going to be a bit of a journey? Well, I came even closer to capturing it this week. Like, agonisingly close.

LOOK AT IT. I WAS SO BLOODY CLOSE!

This shot was taken in a park next to my new office. The squirrels are VERY friendly and the conditions were almost perfect. But there are two issues here.

1) It’s bloody blurry! I panicked as the shot lined up and I was rushing as I was on my way to work. I didn’t have my new lens so it wasn’t quite right.

2) He’s not eating a nut. Now this isn’t absolutely necessary, BUT it was in my brief so I’m sticking to it.

But it’s not a bad second attempt. I think I can get it this week. I now have the location and the subject right on my doorstep. I just need to make sure that the park rangers don’t clear away the leaves before I take the shot. I’ll maybe grab a handful of nuts (stop it) and drop a few off in the location I need them to entice them and get the exact shot I want.
